A Legacy of Love

Shugapy is a term of endearment given to me as a little girl by my paternal grandmother, First Lady, Ora Elaine Flood.  As a little girl growing up I watched her bake all sorts of delicious cakes and pies for customers, church members, family and friends.  Her baking was known throughout Washington, D. C., and was sent across seas during WWII.  Before she passed away, she gave me recipes for her most popular desserts: pound cake, sweet potato pie, apple pie and lemon meringue.  In the years since, I have enjoyed the legacy, the growth and the journey that have become my passion to share my grandmother's gift up and down the east coast and west coast as well.
